Rietfontein Lodge is situated along the valley of the spectacular Bamboes Mountain Range, 30km out of Hofmeyr in the Eastern Cape. The landscape boasts abundant birdlife, scenery and wildlife for those looking to get away. We offer full catered or self catered options. The lodge features 3 on-suite rooms downstairs and an open plan 14 bed setup upstairs with 2 bathrooms.

The farm is proudly solar powered and we take great pride in producing most of our food products organically.

The farm is open to explore. Go for walks, cycles, a game drive, a flight in a microlite or a swim in a cement dam followed by a braai in the veld with views of the mountains etc.

The farm also features a 900m runway with a hanger that is less than 100m from the lodge. Please enquire about activities as additional fees do apply to some.

The lodge is equiped for self catering guests, but meals can be arranged should guests require us to do so at an additional cost. If you are travelling with a baby, a camper cot is also available.

Hofmeyr is a small Karoo town in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, 20 km west of the Bamboesberg mountain range. It lies 64 km north-east of Cradock at an altitude of 1,252 metres.
